Özet:

There is a close relationship between language and culture. Language is one of the sign systems and it has a reference field that points to the outside world, this reference field is related to the culture. Cultural, scientific, political and commercial dealings between the countries caused the interactions in the field of language. The languages, the means of communication, have influenced each other for various reasons; have interchanged words, phrases and sentences. Especially expression style of English was transmitted to Turkish via one-to-one translation from English to Turkish and similarities were formed between two languages within the time. In addition, there are common attitudes in both societies in terms of looking at some events, interpreting them and defining some concepts. Because of these common attitudes, which are thought to be random, similar narrative features emerged between the two languages. Revealing the narrative similarities between the two languages is very important in terms of determining the framework of the interaction between the languages. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the random similarities and translation similarities between Turkish and English. In this context, the impact of the use of English, which entered Turkish rapidly in recent years, will be evaluated.
