İktisat bilimi diğer sosyal bilimlerle olduğu gibi edebiyat ile de ilişki içindedir. İktisadın edebiyatla ilişkisini edebi eserleri inceleyerek görebiliriz. Bu çalışmada da iktisadın edebiyatla olan ilişkisi Ömer Seyfettin’in hikâyeleri üzerinden ortaya konulmuştur. Ömer Seyfettin, Türk edebiyatının önemli yazarlarından biridir ve memleket meselelerine duyarlıdır. Çalışmada yazarın 1914-1919 yılları arasında yazdığı Makul Bir Dönüş, Kazın Ayağı, Niçin Zengin Olmamış ve Boykotaj Düşmanı adlı hikâyeleri incelenmiştir. Hikâyelerin yazıldığı dönem Osmanlı’nın Birinci Dünya Savaşı’na girdiği yıllardır. Bahsedilen dönemde kaotik bir ortam ve devletin savaşı finanse etmek için başvurduğu bir takım iktisadi uygulamalar söz konusudur. Belirtilen zaman aralığında iktisadi uygulamaların ortaya çıkardığı değişimlerin toplumda nasıl yer bulduğu ve toplumu nasıl etkilediği hikâyelerde tespit edilmiştir.
Economics is in connection with literature as with other social sciences. We can see the relationship with literature by studying the literary works. In this study, the relationship of economics with literature is revealed through the stories of Omer Seyfettin. Omer Seyfettin is one of the important writers of Turkish literature and is sensitive to homeland issues. The study studied the stories of a reasonable return, the foot of the cranberries, why not wealthy and the boycott enemy written between 1914 and 1919. The time of writing the stories is the time the Ottoman entered the First World War. This period is a chaotic environment and a set of economic practices that the state applies to finance the war. It is identified in the stories of how the changes revealed by economic practices in the specified period of time have found place in society and how it affects society.
