Deyim ve atasözleri toplumların en önemli dil hazineleridir. En az iki kelimeden oluşan dil birlikleri olan deyimler ifadeye zenginlik kattıkları gibi ait olduğu toplumun kültür dinamiklerini, yaşayışını, inançlarını yansıtırlar. Bir dildeki deyimler incelendiğinde o dili kullanan toplumun değer yargıları hakkında bilgiler edinilebilir. Deyimlerin bir kısmı dilden dile aktarılarak günümüze kadar ulaştırılmış, bir kısmı da edebî eserlerin sayfaları arasında kalarak unutulmuş dolayısıyla kullanımdan düşmüştür. Kimi deyimler de kuşaktan kuşağa aktarılırken söyleyiş ve anlam bakımından değişime uğramıştır. Edebi metinlerde deyimlerin tarihsel süreç içindeki gelişimini izlemek mümkündür. Klasik Türk edebiyatı metinleri bu açıdan oldukça zengin kaynaklardır. Bu metinler yazıldıkları dönemin toplum hayatına, değer yargılarına ışık tutan deyimlerle doludur. Klasik Türk edebiyatı metinlerinde geçen deyim ve tabirleri doğru anlamak ve yorumlamak bu metinlerin anlaşılmasında kilit öneme sahiptir. Çalışmamıza konu olan “yüzü açılmış” deyimine 16. yüzyıl metinlerinde rastlanmaktadır. Deyimin geçtiği beyitler ve ilişkili olduğu kavramlar çözümlenip yorumlandığında toplumun değer yargılarını yansıtan ve günlük dilde yaygın olarak kullanılan bir deyim olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Çalışmada divanlar ve mecmualar taranarak “yüzü açılmış” deyiminin geçtiği beyitler tespit edilmiş, tespit edilen beyitlerden yola çıkılarak yüzü açılmış deyiminin anlam çerçevesi çizilmeye çalışılmış, deyimin kullanım şekilleri ve bağlamlarının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır.
Idioms and proverbs are the most important language treasures of societies. The idioms, which are language associations of at least two words, add richness to the expression and reflect the cultural dynamics, life, and beliefs of the society to which they belong. When the idioms in a language are examined, information about the value judgments of the society can be obtained. Some of the idioms have been transferred to the present day by transferring them from language to language, and some of them have been forgotten by staying in the pages of literary works and thus have fallen out of use. Some idioms have been changed in terms of discourse and meaning as they are transferred from generation to generation. It is possible to follow the development of idioms in historical texts in literary texts. Classical Turkish literature texts are very rich sources in this respect. These texts are full of idioms that shed light on the social life and value judgments of the period in which they were written. To correctly understand and interpret the idioms and phrases used in the texts of classical Turkish literature are key to the understanding of these texts. The expression “yüzü açılmış-face-opened”, which is the subject of our study, is found in the 16th century texts. When the couplets and the related concepts are analyzed and interpreted, it is understood that it is a commonly used phrase in daily language that reflects the value judgments of society. In this study, divans and mecmuas were scanned and couplets using the phrase “yüzü açılmış face-opened”were identified. Based on the couplets identified, it was tried to draw the meaning frame of the expression “yüzü açılmış-face opened”. It is aimed to reveal the usage forms and contexts of the statement.
