Abstract:

Öz: Öğrenciyi merkeze alan yapılandırmacılık yaklaşımıyla birlikte günümüzde gerçekleştirilen eğitim öğretim süreçlerinde bireysel farklılıklar daha da önem kazanmıştır. Öğrencilerin birbirinden farklı yollarla öğrenmelerini sağlayan öğrenme stilleri, bu bireysel farklılıklardan biridir. Öğrenme stilini öğrencinin bilişsel, duyuşsal ve fizyolojik özellikleri belirlemektedir. Literatürde farklı öğrenme stili tanımları ve sınıflandırmaları mevcuttur. Bu araştırmada öğrenme stilleri; görsel, işitsel ve kinestetik olarak üç başlıkta ele alınmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan sınıflandırmanın seçiminde Ellis’in (1996) öğrenme stilleri testinde kullandığı sınıflandırma ile Swassing ve Barbe (1995) tarafından geliştirilen Duyusal Öğrenme Tipi Modeli’ndeki sınıflandırma dikkate alınmıştır. Bu araştırma ile kinestetik öğrenme stilinin 5. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabında bulunan etkinliklerde yer alma durumunun incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 5. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabındaki etkinlikler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Veriler, içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada en fazla görsel öğrenme stiline sahip öğrenciler için etkinlik bulunduğu, kinestetik öğrenme stiline sahip öğrencilere hitap eden etkinliklere ise yeterince yer verilmediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Kinestetik öğrenme stiline sahip öğrencilerin iki farklı kanaldan gelen ses ve görüntüleri anlamlandırmak için bu mesajları kendi stillerine göre dönüştürmeleri uzun bir zaman gerektirmektedir. Görseli ve işitseli içine alarak kinestetik etkinliklerin oluşturulup, ders kitabında bu etkinliklere daha fazla yer verilmesi farklı öğrenme stiline sahip olan öğrencileri kapsayacaktır. Bu yolla öğrenmelerin hızlı ve kalıcı olmasının sağlanacağı düşünülmektedir. Anahtar kelimeler: Bireysel farklılıklar, öğrenme stilleri, kinestetik zekâ, Türkçe ders kitabı.

Essentials: With the structural approach that focuses the student on, individual differences have gained greater importance in the teaching processes that are being carried out today. Learning styles that allow students to learn in different ways from each other are one of these individual differences. The learning style determines the student’s cognitive, sensory and physiological characteristics. There are different definitions and classifications of learning styles in literature. In this study, learning styles have been discussed in three topics: visual, hearing and kinesthetic. In the selection of the classification used in the study, the classification used by Ellis (1996) in the learning styles test and the classification in the Emotional Learning Type Model developed by Swassing and Barbe (1995) was taken into account. This study is aimed at studying the status of participation in the activities found in the 5th class Turkish curriculum of the kinesthetic learning style. The examples of the study are formed by the events in the 5th class Turkish curriculum. In the research methods of quality research is used document examination. The data is analyzed through the content analysis method. The study found that there was an activity for students with the most visual learning styles, and there was no sufficient place for the activities aimed at students with kinesthetic learning styles. It takes a long time for students with a kinesthetic learning style to convert these messages according to their own styles to understand the sounds and images from two different channels. The creation of kinesthetic events by taking into the visual and hearing will include students who have different learning styles and more space for these events in the curriculum. Abstract: The constructivist approach that places the student in the centre of learning in today’s educational and training process brought into prominence individual differences. One of these individual differences is the learning style that enables students to receive knowledge in different ways. The cognitive, affective and physiological characteristics of the student determine the learning style. There are different learning style definitions and classifications in literature. In this paper, learning styles, visual, auditory and kinesthetic are discussed under three headings. This study followed the clasifications used by Ellis (1996) in the learning styles test and the classification in the Sensory Learning Type Model developed by Swassing and Barbe (1995). The aim of this research is to determine the level of involvement of the kinesthetic learning style in the activities found in the 5th grade Turkish textbook and the sample consists of activities included in this book. The document review, one of the qualitative research methods, is used while the data are analyzed by content analysis method. The paper concluded that although there are many activities for students with visual learning style, activities that appeal to students with kinesthetic learning style are not given sufficient space. It takes a long time for students with a kinesthetic learning style to transform these messages according to their own style in order to make sense of sounds and images from two different channels. Creating kinesthetic activities by including visual and auditory and giving more space to these activities in the textbook will include students with different learning styles.
