This research was done on the creativity of the Turkish composer Ilhan Baran, who lived between the years 1934-2016. The study includes the analysis of the composer's work "Three Soyut Dance" for piano. The reason for the choice of the work of Ilhan Baran is that it has been involved in the change in the field of composition in our country in the 1960s. The composer hosted in the characteristics of the 20th century world music and combined it with his own writing method and expressed it in music. In the piano music, many characteristics of execution and composition have been studied (orchestral calling, the use of voice power on the keyboard with agogic procedures, the use of special pedals, the reflection of the calling of folk music instruments on the piano) because of the work called "Three Soyut Dance". In this study, the work called "Three Soyut Dance" by Ilhan Baran, who has an important role in Contemporary Turkish music and music education, was essentially analyzed in terms of form, harmony and performance characteristics. Thus, the work of "Three Soyut Dance" will have made it possible for educators and students to take advantage of the harmony in music education, being among the works studied in terms of form. The study is important in terms of the study of Baran's composition procedures, the example of the work called "Three Soyut Dance" for the piano, the recognition of the work by musicians, music educators or students who will take this work to the piano repertoire. 21 of 21. Ilhan Baran combined the characteristics of Turkish music with the 21st-century composition techniques, combining national and world music.

This study, written to contribute to musicology and music education, is valuable in terms of being among the examples of work analysis. In addition to his composition, there are also such works that seek professionalism along with the works written by the music educator Ilhan Baran for piano education.

In this study, it is aimed to analyze İlhan Baran, who has an important place in Contemporary Turkish music and music education, in terms of form, harmonic and performance characteristics of the work named "Three Abstract Dances" written for piano and composition. Thus, the work "Three Abstract Dances" will be among the works examined in terms of harmony and form in music education, and will allow educators and students to benefit. The study is important in that it allows the musicians, music educators or students who will take this piece to the piano repertoire to get to know the piece, with the example of the piece "Three Abstract Dances" for piano and the examination of Baran's composition methods. İlhan Baran, 21st century music educator and composer, who wrotes "Three Abstract Dances" for piano, as he himself stated, influenced by the art of painting. Ilhan Baran, who clearly shows his commitment to Turkish music in his works, shows this commitment with both melodic, rhythmic and harmonic infrastructure. İlhan Baran brought together national and world music by blending the features of Turkish music with 21st century composition techniques. This study, which was written to contribute to musicology and music education, is valuable in that it is among the sample work analysis. In addition to his compositions, İlhan Baran, who is a music educator, has such works that require professionalism as well as the works he wrote for piano education.
