Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ) tarafından 11 Mart 2020 tarihinde pandemi ilan edilmesine neden olan koronavirüsün etkileri devam etmektedir. Virüse karşı tıbbi hazır bulunuşluğun düşük olması, salgına yakalananların ve salgından dolayı hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısını gün geçtikçe arttırıyor. Uzmanlar aşı çalışmaları başarı ile sonuçlansa dahi, sınırlandırılmış bir hayatın hemen son bulmayacağını belirtiyorlar. Bu durum karşısında, ülke yönetimlerinin neredeyse salgının başından itibaren önleyici tedbirleri ön plana çıkardıkları görülmektedir.
Araştırma, salgınla mücadelede mesafe ve temizlik gibi öncelenen tedbirlerden biri olan maskenin günlük yaşamdaki yerine dair Türkiye'den bir kesit sunma amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Nicel yöntemin benimsendiği araştırmada anket tekniği kullanılmıştır. Kişisel bilgileri öğrenmeye yönelik 4'ünün haricinde 12 sorudan oluşan anket, 1 Temmuz-1 Eylül 2020 tarihleri arasında bir çevrimiçi anket yazılım programı olan Survey Monkey üzerinden uygulanmıştır. İnternet mecralarının işleyiş mantığı ve salgın döneminin şekillendirdiği koşullar nedeniyle uygun örnekleme yönteminin tercih edildiği araştırmaya e-mail, WhatsApp, Instagram ve Facebook gibi sosyal medya ağlarını kullanan 1697 kişi katılmıştır. Talep edilen formata uygun olmadığı için 35 katılımcının cevapları değerlendirme dışı bırakılarak araştırmanın örneklemi 1662 kişi kabul edilmiştir.
Toplanan verilerden yola çıkarak makalede; ağırlıklı olarak genç, üniversite mezunu/öğrencisi ve kentli özelliklere sahip katılımcıların maske kullanımına yönelik davranış ve düşünceleri analiz edilmiş, maskenin günlük yaşam alışkanlıklarında ne kadar karşılık bulduğu ortaya konmuştr.
The effects of the coronavirus, which led to the declaration of pandemic on 11 March 2020 by the World Health Organization (WHO), continue. The low presence of medical preparation for the virus increases the number of people affected by the epidemic and the number of people who lose their lives due to the epidemic. Experts say that even if the vaccine studies are successful, a limited life will not end immediately. In the face of this situation, it is apparent that the governments of the country almost from the beginning of the epidemic put preventive measures in the forefront.
The research was carried out with the aim of providing a cut from Turkey on the place of the mask in daily life, which is one of the prior measures in the fight against the epidemic, such as distance and cleaning. Nicel method was used in the survey technique. Except for 4 to learn personal information, the survey, which consists of 12 questions, was implemented via Survey Monkey, an online survey software program between 1 July and 1 September 2020. Due to the logic of the functioning of the internet makers and the conditions that the epidemic period shapes, the research included 1697 people using social media networks such as e-mail, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. Because the requested format is not in accordance with the 35 respondents' answers were out of assessment, the sample of the study was accepted by 1662 people.
Based on the collected data, the article analyzed the behavior and thoughts of mainly young people, university graduates/students and participants with urban characteristics towards the use of the mask, and revealed how much the mask reacted to the daily life habits.
The effect of coronavirus causing the World Health Organization (WHO) to label the outbreak a pandemic on March 11, 2020 are ongoing. As there wasn't adequate medical readiness, individuals catching the disease and losing their lifestyle will prolong. Goverments are focusing on the importance of preventative precautions from the beginning.
This study aims to present an overview of Turkey regarding the importance of masks in daily life as a prioritized precaution in fighting against the outbreak such as distancing and hygiene. Survey was used as a quantitative method. A 12-question survey, out of 4 were personal information questions, was conducted using Survey Monkey between July 1 and September 1, 2020. Asuitable sampling method was used considering the logic behind online mediums and the circumstances shaped by the pandemic. 1697 individuals using social media such as WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook participated in the study. 35 participants were left out as they did not comply with the requested format. The sample of the study was determined as 1662 individuals.
Based on the collected data, behaviors and opinions of predominantly young urban college graduates/students regarding use of masks were analyzed, and extent of the involvement of masks within the daily habits was presented.
