Developments in communication technologies directly affect the communication sector. Many occupational groups in the communication sector are faced with a constant change in terms of vocational rules and practices based on the new opportunities offered by communication technologies. This situation forces both the profession and the human resources to be employed in the occupation to stay up to date. Therefore, human individuals working in this field may face uncertainties in terms of both their professional future and individual skills and competencies. This situation can reveal professional uncertainty and, accordingly, professional anxiety. This study deals with the vocational anxiety of university students in the journalism department due to the digitalization and digital transformation processes that have been experienced intensely recently. For this purpose, a study was conducted with the participation of 231 students from the journalism department of Süleyman Demirep University. In the study, students' perceptions of digitalization and digital transformation were defined and the effects of these perceptions on students' vocational anxiety were investigated. In this context, students' perceptions of digitalization in the study were defined as five different factors: "digital education", "vocational depreciation", "digital skill", "access" and "cost". Considering the effects of these factors on students' journalism vocational anxiety In general, "vocational depreciation", "access" and "cost" factors have a significant and positive effect on the vocational anxiety of the students participating in the research.
