The recent spread of COVID-19 has impacted all aspects of human life. The educational sector underwent several unforeseen transitions as the medium of instruction changed from face-to-face to online. Attitudes of students towards different aspects of their learning are a crucial part of the educational process. Hence, this study aims to investigate attitudes of Pakistani undergraduate ESL students towards online language teaching. The quantitative research design of the study was carried out using Comparative Learning Environment Questionnaire (COMPLEQ) from Erarslan and Topkaya (2017), originally developed and validated by Iyer (2011). The participants of this study were 100 non-native undergraduate ESL students at a private university (anonymized due to ethical reasons) in Pakistan. The data was collected using Microsoft Forms was analyzed using IBM SPSS 19 software. Results of the study showed that the students displayed somewhat favorable attitudes towards the online medium of instruction. However, it was also found out that students enjoyed traditional teaching more than online teaching. It was also revealed that students faced difficulties in writing, speaking and listening activities during online teaching of English. Recommendation for further research include exploring factors responsible for a lack of enjoyment experienced by ESL students during online instruction.
