Abstract:

Abstract:

The XIX. At the end of the century, the most powerful states in Europe, by increasing their influence on China, tried to take some areas of the country under their own control. The XIX. The end of the century - XX. At the beginning of the century, the influence areas of Britain, France and Germany in the territory of China had come to an end. During this time, China became almost half-colonial. The Russian Empire was also involved in this struggle over China, trying to have a port without ice in the Pacific Ocean. The main interests of Russia were concentrated in the Manchuria region of China. This situation was not suitable for the interests of the Japanese Empire. Thus, the Manchuria region of China has become a place where the interests of the two countries are conflicting. This resulted in the early 1904 war between the two countries, in history known as the 1904-1905 Russian-Japan War. At this date, the Russian Empire has sent thousands of soldiers living in different regions of the country to the Far East to fight against Japan. There were many Turkish-Muslim soldiers living within the borders of the Russian Empire. Among them were a large number of Crimean Tatar soldiers. The events during this war, which resulted in the victory of the Japanese, were the subject of the Crimean Tatar folk literature products, especially the Turks. These turks were first included in the studies of researchers such as Aleksey Olesnitsky and Alexander Samoylovich. What happened during the Russian-Japan War in Turks was reflected with all its vitality. In this study, the events described in the Crimean Tatar Turkish, a verbal literary product, have been evaluated in the light of historical information.

Abstract:

In the late 19th century, Europe’s most powerful states increased their influence over China and tried to take control over some parts of this country. At the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, the mandates of Britain, France and Germany on the Chinese territory had been finalized. The Russian Empire was also involved in this struggle over China, trying to have a non-icy harbour in the Pacific Ocean. The main interests of Russia were concentrated in Manchuria. This was not appropriate for the interests of the Japanese Empire. Thus, the Manchurian region of China became a place where the interests of the two countries clashed. As a result of this, at the beginning of 1904, the war known as the 1904-1905 Russo-Japanese War occurred between the two countries. At that time, the Russian Empire sent thousands of soldiers living in different parts of Russia to the Far East to fight against the Japanese. Among these soldiers, there were many Turkic-Muslims living within the borders of the Russian Empire. There were also a significant number of Crimean Tatar soldiers among them. What happened during this war, which resulted in the victory of the Japanese, has been the subject of Crimean Tatar folk literature products and especially folk songs. These folk songs were first included in the studies of researchers such as Olesnitskiy and Samoylovich. In this study, the events mentioned in the Crimean Tatar folk songs were evaluated in the light of historical information.
