Bireylerin tutum ve davranışlarında etkili olduğu düşünülen insan duyguları temelde mutluluk, üzüntü, korku, şaşırma, öfke ve tiksinme olarak sınıflandırılmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra tüketicilerin tercih ve tutumlarını etkileyen şiddet, endişe gibi hisler katharsis duygular olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Bireylerin bedensel ve ruhsal arınması olarak tanımlanan katharsis durum reklam içeriklerinde de kullanılarak tüketicilerde bir rahatlama hissi oluşturmaktadır. Markalar ise hem temel duyguları hem de katharsis duyguları reklam çekicilikleri çerçevesinde değerlendirerek tüketicilerde bir tutum ve satın alma niyeti oluşturma çabası içerisine girmektedir. Bu noktada reklam uygulamaları içerisinde en sık kullanılan katharsis duygulardan biri ise şiddet olarak görülmektedir. Bu çerçevede katharsis şiddet duygusu bazı durumlarda tek başına bazı durumlarda ise diğer duygularla birlikte tüketicilerde bir marka tutumu oluşturma amacıyla reklam çekiciliği olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu araştırma kapsamında katharsis bir duygu olan şiddetin reklamda kullanımının markaya yönelik tutuma yansımasını tutumun bilişsel, duygusal ve davranışsal alt boyutları açısından yaş, cinsiyet, eğitim durumu ve tanımlayıcı değişkenler bağlamında irdelemek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla araştırma bağlamında katharsis şiddeti reklam içerikleri içerisinde kullanan Regal markası tercih edilmiş ve markaya yönelik tutumu ölçmek hedeflenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda kolayda örneklem yöntemiyle 391 kişiyle çevrimiçi anket tekniği uygulanarak veri toplanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında cinsiyet değişkeni ve tanımlayıcı değişkenler bağlamında tüketicilerin marka tutum alt boyutları arasında farklılıklar olduğu görülürken, yaş ve eğitim durumu değişkenleri açısından katılımcıların marka tutumu alt boyutlarında farklılıkların olmadığı sonucuna erişilmiştir. Bu çerçevede kadınların erkeklere göre markaya daha zayıf bir tutum sergiledikleri izlenmiştir. Ayrıca hem cinsiyet hem de tanımlayıcı değişkenler açısından tutumun bilişsel ve duygusal alt boyutu bağlamında farklılıkların olduğu görülürken tutumun davranışsal alt boyutu açısından farklılıklar gözlenmemiştir.
Human emotions, which are considered to be influential in individuals’ attitudes and behaviors, are primarily classified as happiness, sadness, fear, surprise, anger and trembling. In addition, violence, such as anxiety, which affects consumer preferences and attitudes, is considered cathartic emotions. The catarsis state, defined as the physical and mental cleansing of individuals, creates a feeling of relaxation in consumers by using it in advertising content as well. The brands, by evaluating both basic emotions and catharcism emotions in the framework of advertising attractiveness, enter into the effort to create a attitude and intention to buy in consumers. At this point, one of the cathartic emotions used in advertising practices is seen as violence. In this context, the cathartic sensation of violence is used as advertising attraction in some cases alone, while in some cases, along with other feelings, in order to create a brand attitude in consumers. This study aims to reflect the attitude to the brand of the use of violence, which is a cathartic feeling, in terms of the cognitive, emotional and behavioral subdimensions of the attitude in the context of age, gender, educational status and identifying variables. For this purpose, in the context of research, the brand Regal, which is used in advertising content, is preferred and aimed at measuring the attitude towards the brand. In this direction, the data was easily collected using the sampling method with 391 people using the online survey technique. The study found that in the context of gender variables and identification variables there were differences between consumers’ brand attitude subdimensions, while in terms of age and educational status variables there were no differences in the brand attitude subdimensions of participants. In this context, women show a weaker attitude to the brand than men. There are also differences in the context of the cognitive and emotional subdimensions of the attitude in terms of both gender and identificative variables, but there are no differences in the context of the behavioral subdimensions of the attitude.

In this study, it is aimed to examine the reflection of the use of violence, which is a catharsis emotion, in advertising towards the brand in the context of age, gender, education status and descriptive variables in terms of cognitive, emotional and behavioral sub-dimensions of attitude. For this purpose, Regal brand, which uses katharsis violence in advertising content, was preferred and it was aimed to measure the attitude towards the brand. In this direction, 391 people were convenience sampled and online survey technique was used to collect data. Within the scope of the research, while it is seen that there are differences between the brand attitude sub-dimensions of consumers in terms of gender variable and descriptive variables, it is concluded that there are no differences in the brand attitude sub-dimensions of the participants in terms of age and education status variable. Within this framework, it was observed that women exhibited a weaker attitude towards the brand than men. In addition, there were differences in terms of cognitive and emotional sub-dimension of attitude in terms of both gender and descriptive variables, but no differences were observed in terms of behavioral sub-dimension of attitude.
