The aim of this study is to show how financial transparency affects income inequality in Turkey. For this purpose, the annual income rate, financial clarification, inflation, public spending and GDP per capita data covering the 1990-2016 periods have been studied with time series analysis techniques. During the stagnation analysis of macroeconomic variables, the KPSS (1992) stagnation test and Perron (1989) breakable unit root test were used. The findings provide evidence that there is a strong statistical relationship between financial transparency and income inequality. The results of the analysis showed that 50% of the low-income groups in the group affected by financial disclosure were negative. Financial transparency, similarly, causes 40% of the middle-income group to receive less share of the income. The increase in financial disclosure increases the share of the group with a high income of 10 percent from the total income. The results of the study show the importance of seeing financial integration not only as an isolated policy goal, but as part of a broader reform package and supporting macroeconomic policies that will contribute to access to financial markets for all sections of society.
