Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the self-quality beliefs and self-quality resources of the candidates for science and primary mathematics teachers in terms of the program type, class level and gender variables they study. The study was carried out on the basis of the scan pattern from quantum research approaches. A total of 885 teachers candidates who studied in the third and fourth classes of the five universities’ Science and Primary Mathematics Teaching programs were collected data using the Teacher Self-Capacity Scale and Self-Capacity Resources Scale. In the analysis of the data, one-way multi-variant variance analysis (MANOVA) from visual statistics and local statistics has been used. The study resulted in the fact that for all the subdimensions of the variable of self-sufficiency beliefs, the entire teacher candidates were quite sufficient. On the other hand, differences have been observed in the levels of teachers candidates in terms of the lower dimensions of the variable of self-capacity resources. The highest arithmetic average is obtained in the size of oral conviction, the lowest average is in the size of physiological and emotional conditions. Six different one-way MANOVAs have been applied to test whether the examined variables are different according to the program type, class level and gender in which the teacher candidates are studying. Except for the gender analysis of self-sufficiency sources, all other analyses have found statistically significant differences.
