Cumhuriyet dönemi Türk düşünce tarihinin önemli simalarından birisi olan Kerim Sadi, 1930’lu yıllardan itibaren çeşitli eleştiri metinleri kaleme almış, bu metinlerde Marksist öğretinin/tarihsel materyalizmin verileri ve sunduğu bakış açısı doğrultusunda Namık Kemal, Ahmet Haşim, Mehmet Âkif Ersoy gibi Türk edebiyatının önde gelen pek çok şahsiyetini konu edinmiştir. Daha çok Rus Marksist eleştirmen Georgi Plehanov’un eleştiri mantığından hareket eden ve sınıfsal/iktisadi şartların vurgusu etrafında bir okuma biçimini somutlaştıran Kerim Sadi, Türkiye’nin ilk Marksist eleştirmenleri arasında yer almıştır. Gelgelelim özelde Marksist eleştiri, genelde Türk eleştirisi söz konusu olduğunda onun adı pek anılmamakta, eleştiri metinleri çoğu kez göz önünde bulundurulmamaktadır. Eleştirmen yönüyle ilgili müstakil bir çalışma da görülmemektedir. İşte makalede, bu çerçevede bir boşluğun doldurulmasına gayret edilmiş; Kerim Sadi eleştirmen yönüyle ele alınmış ve güncel edebî kamuoyunun dikkatine sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. Türk eleştiri tarihindeki meçhullüğü göz önünde bulundurularak önce Kerim Sadi’nin hayatı ve düşünce insanlığına dair birtakım tanıtıcı açıklamalar sunulmuş, sonra da eleştiri anlayışının öne çıkan noktaları ve ilgili metinlerde edebiyatçıları ele alma biçimleri işlenmiştir. Kerim Sadi’nin eleştiri anlayışı üzerinde durulurken Marksist eleştiri literatüründeki ilgili kaynaklardan yararlanılmış, böylelikle ondaki eleştirel yönelimlerin hangi kuramsal temeller üzerinde şekillendiği ortaya konulmuştur. İlgili metinler incelenirken de genel olarak kronolojik bir sıra gözetilmiş, konu edilen şairler ve yazarlar üzerine Kerim Sadi’nin dile getirdiklerine yorumsal bir bakış açısıyla ve ana hatlarıyla değinilmiştir.
Kerim Sadi, one of the important symbols of the Turkish thought history during the Republic, has been trained with various critical texts since the 1930s, in these texts he has addressed many of the leading figures of Turkish literature, such as Namik Kemal, Ahmet Haşim, Mehmet Âkif Ersoy, according to the data of Marxist doctrine/historical materialism and the perspective he offers. Moreover, Kerim Sadi, who moved from the critical logic of the Russian Marxist critic Georgi Plehanov and materialized a form of reading around the emphasis of class/classific conditions, was among the first Marxist critics in Turkey. In particular, Marxist criticism is often not much mentioned when it comes to Turkish criticism, and criticism texts are often not taken into account. There is no criticism on the criticism. In this article, a gap in this framework was tried to be filled; Kerim Sadi was addressed in the critic direction and tried to be presented to the attention of the current literary public. Having regard to the discretion in the history of Turkish criticism, first a series of indicative explanations on Kerim Sadi’s life and thought humanity were presented, then the outstanding points of criticism and the ways in which the writers were discussed in the relevant texts were processed. As we focus on Kerim Sadi’s criticism, Marxist criticism has been exploited from the relevant sources in literature, so it has been revealed on which theoretical foundations the critical orientations in it are formed. When the relevant texts are studied, a chronological order is observed in general, the poets and writers on the subject are referred to in the words of Kerim Sadi with an interpretative point of view and with the main lines.
Kerim Sadi, one of the important figures in the history of Turkish thought in the Republican era, has written various critical texts since the 1930s. In these texts, many prominent figures of Turkish literature such as Namık Kemal, Ahmet Haşim, Mehmet Âkif Ersoy were discussed in line with the data and perspective of Marxist teaching/historical materialism. Kerim Sadi, who mostly moves from the logic of criticism of the Russian Marxist critic Georgi Plekhanov and embodies a way of reading around the emphasis of class/economic conditions, is among the first Marxist critics of Turkey. However, when it comes to Marxist criticism in particular and Turkish criticism in general, his name is not mentioned much, and criticism texts are often not taken into account. There is no independent study on the critic aspect. In this article, an effort has been made to fill a gap in this framework; Kerim Sadi has been handled as a critic and tried to be brought to the attention of the current literary public. Considering his obscurity in the history of Turkish criticism, firstly, some introductory explanations about Kerim Sadi’s life and world of thought are presented, and then the prominent points of his understanding of criticism and the way he handles the literati in the relevant texts are discussed. While focusing on Kerim Sadi’s understanding of criticism, relevant sources in the Marxist criticism literature were used, thus revealing the theoretical foundations of her critical orientations. While examining the related texts, a chronological order has been observed in general, and Kerim Sadi’s words on the poets and writers are mentioned with an interpretive point of view and main lines.
