Abstract Human beings have built structures that meet the need for shelter in various periods since their existence. These structures have become material cultural assets that reflect the cultural characteristics of civilizations. One of the material cultural assets in which the cultural characteristics of people from the past are best reflected is their houses. The most important indicator of the societal traditional lives is the traditional houses. Reflecting the traditional life of the Anatolian people, the Turkish House is a good example of the interior design of the tent used by Turks as a society living in nomadic life in Central Asia. One of the best examples of the Turkish House, which shows regional differences according to climate and geographical conditions, is Diyarbakır houses. Generally, the two-storey arrangements, courtyard and service spaces shaped around the courtyard, upper floor living spaces and structures where the continuity of traditional culture are seen. The Turkish house, which is shaped in accordance with the plan typology and spatial fiction, reflects the traditional life style and it is important to maintain and maintain the cultural continuity. In this study, it is tried to evaluate the spatial structure of traditional houses in the urban fabric of Diyarbakır in Turkish House architecture.
