Traditional Turkish houses are indispensable monuments of traditional culture, with their indoors and furniture. However, Turkish houses and especially traditional furniture made of wooden material was damaged and annihilated because of dilapidation, bad repair and out of use. Sustenance of these annihilated design features in new structures is quite significant in the sense of transferring traditional Turkish house design culture to the next generations. In this study, restoration of a displaced and otiose cupboard belonging to a traditional Turkish house, and its re-use chances in a modern structure were accentuated. The equipment in question was restored with appropriate techniques and re-use of the cupboard was procured. Consequently, it has been emphasized that Turkish house equipment elements can be transferred into new applications and that cultural continuity can be ensured designing modern structures with traditional design understanding.
