Abstract:

The trainings on negotiation skills are designed to teach negotiators to keep away from logical and behavioral errors and to behave in a way that will improve the outcomes in all negotiation situations. The trainings on conflict resolution and negotiation skills mainly aims to transfer negotiation skills to the participant. In addition, the duration of negotiation skills training adds a new dimension to the discussion of the transfer of education. The main purpose of this study is to empirically demonstrate whether the effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills trainings have an effect on the development of conflict resolution and negotiation skills. It was also intended to provide an empirical study on the transfer of to the real life with the measurements made on the transfer of the training to be received. For this purpose, to test the effect of long term training programs in this study, 35 students who are 3rd grade of Istanbul Aydın University compose experiment group and 28 students compose control group. Again to test the effect of short term training programs in this study 43 students from Sociology department of AIBU compose experimantal group and 25 students from International Relations department of AIBU compose control group. Significant differences also emerged as a result of comparison between attitude of conflict resolution and negotiation ability and behavior / education transfer of the experimental and control groups. It was also found that there were significant differences between the groups in terms of attitude of conflict resolution and negotiation skills and behavior / education transfer.
