Abstract:

According to the Qur’an, people were held free on their religious choices and the deeds that depend on these choices as required by the divine test. As a natural consequence of this, nations belonging to different religions have lived together and in peace in the Islamic geography. Although it is not very common in Islamic societies, there are also families consisting of members of different religions. The Qur’an gives examples of the prophet Noah and his son and the prophet Abraham and his father for this situation. In this study, it is aimed to consider how the relationship between parents and children from different religions should be on the basis of the Qur’an and to determine the Qur’anic messages for both Muslim children whose parents are deniers and Muslim parents whose children are deniers. The boundaries of halal and haram set by the Qur’an in affairs related to the religion and world among family members from different religions will be determined by considering the examples of the prophet Muhammad's time. The subject of the study, which was handled in the light of the information collected using the literature review method, was limited to parents and children from different religions in the family. In addition, the subject was handled within the boundaries of the field of commentary and legal issues between family members were excluded from the scope of the study.
