Bu çalışma, beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin mesleki yeterlikleri, kullandıkları öğretim yöntemleri ve bu yöntemlerin uygulanmasında karşılaşılan sorunların belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmış betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırma, 2011–12 öğretim yılında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı okullarda görev yapan 700 öğretmen ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin 503’ü (%71,9) erkek, 197’si (%28,1) bayandır ve 289’u (%41,3) ilköğretimde, 411’i (%58,7) lisede görev yapmaktadırlar. Çalışmada, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen ve demografik bilgiler, mesleki yeterlikler, kullanılan öğretim yöntemleri ile ilgili boşluk doldurma ve 5’li likert tipi sorulardan oluşan 27 maddelik ölçme aracı kullanılmıştır. Bulgulara göre; öğretmenlerin mesleki yeterlik durumlarına bakıldığında meslekle ilgili yeterli bilgi birikimine sahip olabilme ve mesleğini severek yapma, ders işlerken öğrencilerin gelişimini dikkate alma, dersle ilgili ön hazırlık yapabilme, dersteki etkinliklerin işlem basamaklarını sıralı bir şekilde gerçekleştirebilme, öğrencilere eksikliklerini giderebilmeleri için yardımcı olabilme, mezun olduğu bölümde yeterli özel öğretim dersi alma, kullanacağı özel öğretim yöntemini seçerken bilgi düzeyinin yeterli olması, derse ayrılan sürede verimli ders işleme gibi sorulara her zaman ve genellikle seçenekleriyle cevap verdikleri görülmüştür. Öğretmenler genellikle öğrenci merkezli ders işlediklerini ve ders süresini kısmen yeterli bulduklarını bildirmişlerdir. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin öğretim yöntemlerini kullanma durumlarına göre, en fazla tercih ettikleri: eşli, komut ve alıştırma yöntemleri; en az tercih ettikleri: öğrencinin tasarımı, yönlendirilmiş buluş ve kendi kendine öğretme yöntemleri; en yararlı yöntemler: alıştırma ve kendini denetleme yöntemleri; en kolay yöntemler: komut, alıştırma ve eşli yöntemler; öğrencilerin ilgisini en fazla çeken yöntemler ise komut, alıştırma ve eşli çalışma yöntemleri olarak bildirmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin beden eğitimi derslerinde özel öğretim yöntemlerini kullanmamasına neden olarak dönüt vermede yaşanan sıkıntılar, öğretmenin bilgi yetersizliği, uygun ders ortamının olmaması, öğretmen merkezli ders işlenmesi, ders saatlerinin yetersizliği, ders dışı etkinliklerin fazla olması, öğrencinin istememesi, görev yaptığı okuldaki öğrencinin seviyesinin düşük olması gibi cevapları verdikleri görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin en fazla kullandığı öğretim yöntemleri komut, alıştırma ve eşli yöntemler olup, öğretmenlerin özel öğretim yöntemlerini derslerde yeterince kullandıkları söylenebilir
This study is an imaginary study conducted with the aim of determining the professional skills of body education teachers, the teaching methods they use and the problems encountered in the application of these methods. The research was conducted with 700 teachers who worked in schools associated with the Ministry of Education in the 2011-12 academic year. 503 of the teachers who participated in the study (71.9 percent) were male, 197 (28.1 percent) female and 289 (41.3 percent) in elementary education, 411 (58.7 percent) in high school. In the study, the researcher developed and used 27 material measurement tools consisting of demographic information, professional qualifications, using teaching methods related empty filling and 5 liquid-type questions. According to the findings, teachers have the ability to have sufficient knowledge about the profession and to do their profession with pleasure, to consider the development of students during the course, to make pre-preparation with regard to the course, to be able to perform the processing stages of the course, to help students to fix their deficiencies, to receive sufficient special teaching lessons in the department where they are graduated, to be sufficient knowledge level when choosing the special teaching method to use, to respond to questions such as efficient teaching processing during the course, always and often with options. Teachers often report that they are doing a student-centered course and that they find the course time partially sufficient. According to the circumstances in which teachers participate in the study use the teaching methods, they prefer the most: equal, command and practice methods; the least prefer: the student's design, guided invention and self-learning methods; the most useful methods: practice and self-control methods; the easiest methods: command, exercise and equal methods; the methods that attract the most interest of students, they report as commands, practice and equal methods of work. The teachers have trouble giving answers, such as the lack of knowledge of the teacher, the lack of the appropriate class environment, the processing of the teachers-centered lessons, the lack of the lessons hours, the excess of non-class activities, the student does not want, the level of the student in the school in which the task is low. As a result, the teaching methods most used by the teachers of body training are commands, exercises and accompanying methods, and it can be said that the teachers use the specific teaching methods sufficiently in classes.
