Abstract:

This research was carried out in order to analyze the postgraduate thesis studies on natural disasters in Turkey. The research has used the method of document analysis based on the quality research model. In this study, the method of document analysis was selected for the purpose of performing general scan (literature scan). The scope of the research consists of master's and doctoral theses conducted between 2000-2017 years. The research has been used by the scan of literature in the process of data collection. 48 master's and 12 doctoral thesis studies obtained by literary scan in the study were evaluated. The theses studied within the framework of the research were analyzed by the content analysis method according to gender, years, universities, institutions, maternity branches, consultants, access conditions and subjects. The research is the result that the theses on natural disasters are numerous and the vast majority of them are at the master's level. The study found that eighty percent of the theses related to natural disasters were conducted between 2002 and 2015. In the examined theses, another conclusion was achieved is that Marmara University, Gazi University, Istanbul University and Ankara University from the Turkish universities came to the forefront. According to the other institutions of the Institute of Social Sciences, the public administration, political sciences and historical anatomy are the outcomes that are leading against other anatomy disciplines and the majority of the thesis type consultations are at the professor level. The majority of the researchers found that it was open to access. In the newly prepared theses, the subject variety has been shown to be more common in the topics of public administration, education and teaching, geography, business and computer engineering. The study suggests that comparative studies on natural disasters may be conducted abroad.
