The use of the computer and internet is rapidly becoming a key component of nursing education in many parts of the world. Although several studies in different countries have explored the extent to which health science students use the computer and internet, there isn’t any study about attitudes toward computer of nursing students in our country. The aim of this descriptive study was to assess the attitudes of nursing students’ toward computer and factors that effect their attitudes. The sample population consisted of 202 nursing students enrolled in Ege University School of Nursing. The data was collected by a questionnaire and computer attitude scale developed by Aşkar and Orçan 1988 . Data were analized by using t test and variance analizing. The mean attitudes score toward computer of the nursing students was 98.56 + 11.52. There was no significant relationship between the attitudes score of nursing students toward computer and income level, level of foreign language knowledge, possesing a computer, taking lesson from private computer course previously, frequency of computer usage. It was found that the attitudes toward computer of nursing students who uses internet more frequently, had higher marks in computer lesson, directed toward using computer and used computer easily was more positive. As a result, it was determined that the attitudes of nursing students towards computer is fairly positive
