Abstract:

Financial transactions between individuals close to each other are simple and their costs are very low. However, the internationalization of transactions has an impact that increases both time and financial costs on money transfers. The rate and cost of transactions has gained importance when transitioning from goods to cryptocurrencies. The development of the internet and technology has accelerated the conversion of money. With regard to the development of money, the attention is attracted, respectively, to goods, coins, banknotes, paper coins, represented coins, and ultimately to cryptocurrencies. In the era of digital currency (cryptocurrency) it is also one of the topics discussed that the central bank is digitalizing and making its own digital currency. Algorithmic digital currencies such as Bitcoin appear to be suitable competitors for the central bank’s price currency, and the assets on the market of these currencies force central banks to follow more rigorous monetary policy. This study discussed the conversion of money and the position of the central bank on the issue of digital money. The study has concluded that the monetary authorities should not be sensitive to the monetary movements that develop at the digitalization point. The output of central banks of their own digital currencies will both reduce the cost of delay and allow them to follow the advancing age of technology.
