The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the dialogic book reading program on the receptive language development of 48-66 month old Syrian children included in this program. Experimental research method was used in the study, and the study group consists of 48-66 months old Syrian children living in Gaziantep province Nizip district and receiving pre-school education. There were 32 Syrian children aged 48-66 months, who were randomly selected and continuing their education in 2 independent kindergartens in Nizip district of Gaziantep province. In the study, the socio-demographic information of Syrian children about themselves and their families was collected through the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher “Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test” was used in the pre-test post-test process to evaluate their receptive language development. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the dialogic book reading program applied to the Syrian children included in the experimental group supported their receptive language development, and there was no significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test in terms of age and gender.
