ETKİLEŞİMLİ KİTAP OKUMA PROGRAMI VE SURİYELİ ÇOCUKLAR: GAZİANTEP İLİ NİZİP İLÇESİNDE PİLOT BİR ÇALIŞMA

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı, etkileşimli kitap okuma programının, bu programa dâhil edilen 48-66 aylık Suriyeli çocukların alıcı dil gelişimleri üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Gaziantep ili Nizip ilçesi sınırları içerisinde yaşayan ve okul öncesi eğitimi alan 48-66 aylık Suriyeli çocuklar oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemindeyse Gaziantep ili Nizip ilçesindeki 2 bağımsız anaokulunda eğitime devam eden ve tesadüfi olarak belirlenen 48-66 aylık 32 Suriyeli çocuk yer almıştır. Araştırmada, Suriyeli çocukların kendileri ve aileleriyle ilgili sosyo-demografik bilgileri, araştırmacının hazırlamış olduğu “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” aracılığıyla toplanmış alıcı dil gelişimlerini değerlendirmek amacıyla ön test son test sürecinde “Peabody Resim Kelime Testi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda deney grubuna dahil edilen Suriyeli çocuklara uygulanan etkileşimli kitap okuma programının alıcı dil gelişimlerini desteklediği, yaş ve cinsiyet açısından Peabody Resim Kelime Testinin ön test son test puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the dialogic book reading program on the receptive language development of 48-66 month old Syrian children included in this program. Experimental research method was used in the study, and the study group consists of 48-66 months old Syrian children living in Gaziantep province Nizip district and receiving pre-school education. There were 32 Syrian children aged 48-66 months, who were randomly selected and continuing their education in 2 independent kindergartens in Nizip district of Gaziantep province. In the study, the socio-demographic information of Syrian children about themselves and their families was collected through the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher; “Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test” was used in the pre-test post-test process to evaluate their receptive language development. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the dialogic book reading program applied to the Syrian children included in the experimental group supported their receptive language development, and there was no significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test in terms of age and gender.
