Many researchers who have been trying to define and express the ideal work conditions also looked through the relationship between job satisfaction and burnout. Employees who struggle with stress, has intense work-load and experience long-term depression may face negative consequences on both individual and organizational side, in respect to psychological, physiological and behavioral level. Burnout (or exhaustion) strongly relates to job satisfaction, which defined as workplace happiness of a person and the level of contentedness of the job. This study, investigates the the relationship between burnout and job satisfaction of 182 bank employees in Kızılay - Ankara. Burnout is measured by Maslach Burnout Inventory, which consist of three variables - emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment. Statistically significant and negative correlation between emotional exhaustion - depersonalization and job satisfaction has been found. Furthermore, statistically significant and positive correlation between personal accomplishment and job satisfaction has been identified. Also these three burnout variables showed burnout is a significant predictor of job satifaction. Lastly, it has been concluded that job satisfaction perception differs significantly between some demographic variable groups.
