In today’s world where the effects of globalization are becoming increasingly sensitive,
In today's world where the effects of globalization are becoming more and more intense, enterprises develop various strategies in order to gain competitive advantage against their competitors in a highly competitive environment, to be preferred among other brands and create awareness in which product and service differences are eliminated with the development of technology. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) studies are one of those leading strategies. The concept of CSR enables the opportunity to give back to the society what they have received from the society, to act responsibly to the earth, especially to the social system in which they operate, and to be a partner in the solution of the existing problems. The fact that the resources that are used by enterprises and which are free in nature decrease due to the global problems, threaten the living life and bring about the necessity for enterprises to behave more responsibly to the ecosystem. Apart from the obligations, CSR, forming the basis of democratic societies; has become an important sensibility with the presence of environmental movements and conscious consumers by means of elements such as organization and demonstration right. It acts as a strategic key of many advantages such as providing consumer and employee loyalty, developing good relations with stakeholders and so on and so forth. On the other side of the coin, the necessity of conducting CSR studies in the ethical context, without expecting any benefit and return, creates contradictions due to the advantages achieved and brings about a critical questioning of the issue. It is an undeniable fact that the enterprises, in which the main reason for existence is, to gain profits, have gained the appreciation of the society by means of CSR studies, have been approved by the society and have obtained consent and hence legitimacy. When the relationship between the conseption of CSR and social consent is questioned, the case of hegemony comes up us. This study based on the literature review includes a the critical analysis of CSR conception, the questioning on the relationship between CSR with hegemony and consent.
