Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, lisans düzeyinde muhasebe dersleri alan öğrencilerin bu derslerdeki akademik başarısı ile üniversite giriş sınavındaki matematik bilgi düzeyi arasındaki ilişkiyi ölçmektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda İnönü Üniversitesi İİBF İşletme Bölümü 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin üniversiteye girişte sergiledikleri matematik performansları ile muhasebe derslerindeki performansları arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Aynı zamanda öğrencilerin muhasebe ders veya derslerindeki başarılarının izleyen dönemlerde aldıkları diğer muhasebe ders veya derslerindeki başarıları ile ilişkisi de incelenmiştir. Öğrencilerin üniversiteye giriş sınavında yaptıkları Türkçe dersi net sayıları ve orta öğretimdeki başarı durumunu yansıtan ortaöğretim başarı puanları ile lisans eğitimi sırasında aldıkları muhasebe derslerindeki performansları arasındaki ilişkiler de araştırılmıştır. İkili gruplar halinde ele alınan derslerdeki başarı arasındaki ilişki korelasyon analizi ile tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin matematik bilgi düzeyi ile muhasebe derslerindeki başarıları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilememiştir. Ancak farklı dönemlerde alınan muhasebe dersleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir.
The main purpose of this study is to measure the relationship between the academic success of students taking undergraduate level accounting courses and the level of mathematics knowledge in the university admission exam. For this purpose, the relationship between the mathematics performance of students and their performance in various accounting courses was examined. At the same time, the relationship between the success of students in an accounting course and their success in other accounting course or courses taken in the following periods is also examined. The relationships between students' score of Turkish lesson in the university entrance exam and their secondary education achievement scores, which reflect their success in secondary education, and their performance at accounting courses they took during undergraduate education were also investigated. The relationship between success in the courses studied in binary groups was tried to be determined by correlation analysis. As a result of the research, no meaningful relationship between students' mathematics knowledge level and their success in accounting courses was found. However, significant relationships were found between success in some accounting courses and success in other accounting courses.
