Multicultural and global educations are two educational approaches that have been debated widely by educators and scholars. Multicultural education has become more important due to the rapidly increasing minority population in the United States. On the other hand, global education has become very popular at the last decades when nations begin to give attention to global issues. Although there are differences and similarities between these two approaches, both are not much known in Turkey. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to introduce these approaches to the Turkish educational community. Considering their historical development, firstly multicultural education, then global education approaches will be described. Finally, the development of these two approaches across the World and Turkey will be discussed.
