The analysis of places where women exist and how they exist there allows for the examination of relationship between women and place in terms of gender relations. What we see on television, one of these visual places, is not the presentation of what`s going on, but an edited and narrated or distorted version of reality. The study adopting the view that media constructs reality, aims to clarify the relationship between place and women and its representation in news bulletins. To monitor the visual elements on television, the study will use iconographic analysis where familiar themes, concepts and visuals are introduced and iconological analysis higlighting the cognitive world behind these iconographic representations and meaning-making components are analyzed. The study analyzes 3 main news bulletins mostly watched in Turkey. The research data suggest that women are not actively included in the news content and they even have no visibility in relevant content.
