Abstract enDifficulties in social and communication skills of children and youth with autism spectrum disorders are a common characteristic which makes the area primary examination topic for educational researchers. In order to determine whether tested methods improving social and communicational skills of children with ASD by using single subject design studies can be named as evidence based method or not, this meta-analysis was conducted. ITSACORR was used to calculate effect-size values. Use of social stories yielded the highest value in overall means, and only peer-mediated interventions yielded consistent values for all three age groups. In addition to those methods, promising methods also were named in developing social and communicational skills of children and youth with disabilities.
