This study aims to describe how the newspapers and the supplements published in Turkey covered the global problem obesity issue in 2010, and conducts content analysis on 172 articles, which are selected by systematically sampling technique. The nature of the articles published in the newspapers, the importance of the issue in the pages, the tone of the articles, news sources, causes of the obesity, consequences and solution proposals are evaluated. The findings show that the newspapers doesn’t give more importance to the issue, most of the articles have negative tone, the reasons and solutions of the obesity are described mostly with the frames of personal/behavioral elements.
