Abstract:

This study aims to study the role of the student’s signs of separation anxiety in the relationship between the stress they perceive by university first-class students and the conformity to university life. The study included 269 first-class students (86 men, 183 women) studying at Adnan Menderes University (age average = 20, ranj 17-29, SS = 1.40). Students are applied as a paper-pinted test, the University Life Scale, the Adult Separation Anxiety Survey, the Detected Stress Scale and the Demographic Information Form. In this study, the data was tested with SPSS regression analysis in order to test the instrument's variable role. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between detected stress and separation anxiety. Both detected stress and separation anxiety have a negative relationship with all areas of adaptation to university life. Separation anxiety has been shown to have a partial role of mediation between the levels of adaptation to the stress and university life, academic harmony, emotional harmony and relationships with the opposite gender. Separation anxiety is one of the factors that explain the relationship between the stress that university students perceive and their conformity to the university. The findings are discussed depending on the literature.
