Siyasi eğilimler, her ne kadar devletlerin, ülkelerin ve ilgili toplumsal yapılanmaların dinamikleri çerçevesinde gelişse de küresel anlamda bir etkileşimin olduğu gerçeği göz ardı edilemez. Son yıllarda bu küresel eğilimin sağ popülizme doğru kaydığı, siyasi sahnelerde yer alan temsilcilerin söylemlerinde, seçimlerde, seçim kampanyalarında ve seçmen davranışlarında gözlemlenmektedir. İncelemeler son dönemlerde kıta Avrupası çerçevesinde yoğunlaşmış olsa da gerek kuzeyde 2016 yılında Donald Trump’ın seçildiği Amerika Birleşik Devletleri başkanlık seçimi gerekse de Latin Amerika’daki değişimler göz önünde bulundurulduğunda Amerika kıtasının da yükselen sağ popülizmden ciddi bir şekilde etkilendiği bir gerçektir. Bu çalışmada, batı dünyası siyasi ikliminin etkilendiği sağ popülizminin teorik çerçevesi ve Ekim 2018’de gerçekleştirilen ve dünya siyasetinde yeni bir popülist lider olarak yerini alan Jair Bolsonaro’nun kazandığı Brezilya Başkanlık Seçimi çerçevesinde, popülist söylemlerin seçmen davranışları üzerindeki etkisi incelenmektedir.
Political trends, though evolving within the dynamics of states, countries and related social structures, cannot be neglected by the fact that there is an interaction in the global sense. In recent years, this global trend has been observed in the speeches, elections, election campaigns, and voter behavior of representatives on political scenes. The reviews have been focused on the continent European framework in recent periods, although the U.S. presidential election in which Donald Trump was elected in the north in 2016 is a fact that the continent is also seriously affected by the rising right-wing populism when taking into account the changes in Latin America. In this study, the theoretical framework of the right-wing populism in which the political climate in the Western world is affected and the Brazilian Presidential Election, which was held in October 2018 and won by Jair Bolsonaro as a new populist leader in world politics, examines the impact of populist speeches on electoral behavior.
