Abstract:

Purpose - In this study, the business department aims to identify whether the entrepreneurial trends of the bachelor’s students differ in the first and fourth classes. Method - Work is a quantum and long-term work. In this context, data was collected by survey technique in October 2015 and May 2019 to measure students’ entrepreneurial trends. The scale was developed by Koh (1996) to measure entrepreneurial trends, and used in Turkish by İşcan and Kaygın (2011). The scale consists of the dimensions of self-confidence, innovation, the need for success, the focus of internal control, the tendency to take risks, and tolerance to uncertainty. Results - At the end of the study, it was found that students' entrepreneurial trends in the first and fourth classes did not make significant differences. In addition, it has been determined that students’ levels of tolerance to uncertainty are relatively low. Debate - Students' entrepreneurial trends may be affected by economic conditions. The study collected data from the same group of students in different periods (in 2015 and 2019). The student’s entrepreneurial tendency may be affected by national or international economic conditions in the periods collected data. Furthermore, the collection of research data from a single state university’s students may have an impact on the results.
