Abstract:

In this study, K.K.T.C. Lefkoşa Center Prison Example is aimed at assessing what psychosocial services are offered to prison prisoners. In this study, which is conducted using the quality data collection technique, the data of the research was obtained using two forms of conversation consisting of semi-configured and open-end questions with the personal information form developed by the researcher. The study group consists of 50 prisoners and a social service specialist who have been sentenced for different crimes, different ages, heavy penalties and slight penalties in the Lefkoşa Central Prison between 2014 and 2015. During the interview, the information provided by the prisoners and the social service specialist was recorded with the permission of the prisoners and the social service specialist and using the audio recording device. In the analysis of the data obtained from the interviews, the questions included in the interview form were given direct quotes in order to reflect the opinions of the participants in a spectacular way. According to the data obtained, the prisoners were found to need psycho-social support services when they first entered the prison, during the time they stayed in the prison, while preparing for the release and after the release.
