Abstract:

The purpose of the research is to determine the research trends of the master's and doctoral theses related to the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language prepared between 2015-2020. For this purpose, the method of content analysis has been used. The data source of the research was taken from the National Thesis Center of the Higher Education Council. In the process of data collection, the document review technique has been used. In the analysis of data is used the visual analysis technique. The study found that 540 sub-graduate theses related to the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language were prepared between 2015 and 2020. These theses have been completed in 64 different universities. Of the theses, 456 are graduate and 84 are at the doctoral level. The most postgraduate thesis on the subject was prepared in 2019. In the theses in the data source it was seen that more subjects related to the existence of word were preferred, then writing and language knowledge was taught. Most of the undergraduate theses related to the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language are prepared by the quality research method. For this purpose, the document and interview forms are more preferred as a data collection tool. In the theses conducted by the Nicel research method, sensory scales and success tests were preferred. Also, examples in the theses related to the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language are more selected by students in TÖMER. In addition, documents, teachers and high school students are also preferred as samples.
