Abstract:

The PICTES project, launched by the Ministry of National Education with the support of the European Union in order to meet the education needs of Syrian children and solve the language problem they encounter in schools, has become a new area for teachers’ employment. The aim of this study is to determine the extinction level of PICTES teachers, taking into account the variables in branch, school type and student number. In this context, 148 PICTES teachers in Bursa have been applied the Maslach extinction scale and 17 teachers have been held semi-configured interviews. Quantitative and qualitative data are collected simultaneously. The first analysis of the quantum phase was performed using the Kruskal-Wallis-H test. The qualitative data that the participants classified about extinction were submitted to content analysis. The study found that the teachers of PICTES experienced high levels of emotional exhaustion in the middle, high levels of insensitivity in the lower, and high levels of exhaustion in the lower dimensions of personal failure. It is believed that this study will contribute to the training of foreign nationals students that are still in the process of professionalization and to the training plans in this direction.
