Abstract:

The study aimed at determining the trends of research at the postgraduate level by studying the master and doctoral theses in the field of critical reading in Turkey between 1997-2019. In accordance with this objective, the theses were evaluated in terms of the year, method, data collection tools, sampling characteristics, data analysis techniques and subjects. In the study of the theses, document examination from the visual research approaches was used. The study was limited to the years 1997-2019, and between these years the theses found in the National Thesis Center database of the Higher Education Council and can be reached as a full text were taken into the study scope. In the analysis of data is used content analysis. When examining the results obtained by the research findings; most of the research done on critical reading in Turkey is usually at the master's level. Most of the theses are written at the University of Gazi. The majority of the theses were studied with high school students, experimental studies, the theses often used survey or liquid-type scales, the t-test and ANOVA analysis statistics were used.
