Bu araştırmada, engelli çocuğa sahip olan ailelerde, aile yılmazlığının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, nitel bir çalışma olup, çalışma 6 çift olmak üzere 12 anne-baba ile görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmaya ilişkin veriler Walsh (1998) Aile Yılmazlık Modeli ve araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen Özgünlük Sistemi Modeli temel alınarak yapılandırılan “Aile Yılmazlık Görüşme Formu” aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Veriler, içerik analizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre, ailelerin yılmazlıklarına katkı sağlayan en önemli etkenlerin sosyal destek, maneviyat, sahip oldukları pozitif bakış açısı, aile içerisindeki birbirlerine bağlılıkları, esnek olmaları ve özgünlük / ilişkisel özgünlük olduğu belirlenmiştir.
