Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of safety management system (SMS) process on corporate reputation and the mediation role of job satisfaction in this relationship. The hypothesises of research are tested on 164 individuals who are currently being trained at aviation training organizations located at İstanbul, Antalya and Isparta provinces in Turkey. As a result of the research, it is found that safety management system requirements and safety management processes directly effect organizations’ perceived corporate reputation while job satisfaction has proximate mediator role in between the main variables. It is considered that this study will contribute to the literature in terms of revealing the relationship between the concept of corporate reputation and the safety management process, which has a direct impact on all activities of aviation organizations, and questioning the mediation effect of the job satisfaction levels perceived by employees in this relationship.
