Abstract:

The study has been conducted to study the concepts of family membership and family communication satisfaction in the current Turkish family structure. The sampling group of the research using the Relational Scanning method is 278 people applying to the family health centers that are serving in Malta in January 2021. The form is used as a data collection tool. The first 13 questions included in the data collection tool were asked in order to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants. The data collection tool also contains the "Family Communication Scale" developed by Hecht (1978) and the "Family Assistance Scale" developed by Mavili and his friends (2014) with the "Family Communication Scale" developed by Hecht (1978) and the "Family Assistance Scale" developed by Mavili and his friends. The data obtained by the data collection tool was analyzed by SPSS 22.0 . After the analyses were found that the research data did not show normal distribution and the research data were therefore applied to nonparametric tests from Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney, while the meaning level (p) was determined at 0.05. Family communication satisfaction and family membership levels have been analyzed by separate association with the demographic characteristics of 278 individuals who participated in the study. A statistically meaningful difference has been determined between education and monthly income variables and family communication satisfaction, thinking that family communication changes and marriage form variables and family membership. There has been no significant difference between civil status, gender, age of marriage, the type of family, the number of individuals living in the same home, the presence of children, the marriage of relatives, the changes in thinking that there is a change in the Turkish family structure and the levels of family membership and satisfaction in family communication. The study found that individuals who experience intense feelings of family membership and self-appartenance also experience intense feelings of family communication satisfaction. The study also suggested that there is a positive relationship between family communication satisfaction and family membership, that the increase in family communication satisfaction also increases family membership, that it would be beneficial for individuals to receive support from family consulting centers to ensure that the level of family communication satisfaction and family membership can be high.
