Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the role of school principals in establishing professional learning communities. For this reason, qualitative research method was used. In order to ensure maximum diversity in the study group, 13 teachers from the Ahmetli district of Manisa were selected as a sample, taking into account variables such as seniority and gender. A semi-structured interview form was used while collecting the research data. After the codes were created in the analysis of the research data, similar codes were brought together and shown under the relevant theme.
According to the research findings; These are behaviors that show that teachers have professional learning societies, positive collaborative behaviors, and peaceful and enriching environments. The advantage of having teachers as professional learning bodies for schools is that teachers are more morally motivated and have higher success rates. It is understood that in order for teachers to become professional learning communities, school administrators should take into account the opinions of teachers.
In addition, professional learning bodies, school teachers share teaching and training experiences and best practices, inspiring, inspiring and disseminating best practices. By sharing the knowledge and skills we have acquired in our fields, we create an environment of continuous learning and development where we can benefit from each other's expertise. Parents' interest in these schools is increasing. Parents contribute to the development of their children by relying on schools. School administrators give importance to teamwork in order to be a professional learning society. These schools bring people together in a common vision and complement each other by joining forces.
