Abstract:

SMEs which are the base of economy and have also an extremely important position in the economy of our country as in every country of the world, are faces many problems within a period of their operating time. Some of the problems can be solved by SMEs but some are chronic. The aim of this study is to examine problems of SMEs which operate in Diyarbakir and to develop proposed solutions for them. For this purpose, firstly relevant studies performed earlier especially in Diyarbakir are examined and 50 SMEs which has been chosen randomly were interviewed. As a result of the study, it has been discovered that a large number of SMEs are micro and small-scale family companies, they have not been sufficiently institutionalized yet and have many problems particularly lack of qualified employee and financing
