Abstract:

This study aims to identify the opinions of school stakeholders about participation in the management. The research method is preferred and the method is intended to reveal the existing opinions of stakeholders. In the study, data obtained from stakeholders in the secondary education institutions were analyzed using the "betimical analysis" method. The study was carried out in the second semester of the 2018-2019 educational year, with the participation of 6 teachers, 6 students, 6 guardians and 2 school directors in the district of Eskişehir or Odunpazari. The research has concluded that teachers take advantage of the development of the school, the team spirit and experience; the transmission of students’ developments, socializations and desires; the cooperation of parents, the development of students and socialization; and the school directors take care of cooperation and participation in the management in terms of the ownership of the school. The research has achieved the conclusions that, in particular, the negative attitudes of the school manager, the work intensity, unwillingness, the lack of trust in the management causes negatively affect the participation in the management, while the important elements that increase the participation in the school management are the value, appreciation, the positive managerial attitude and student success. By removing from the concept of autonomous governance, it can be translated into a shared management concept that can be given responsibility and authority to all school stakeholders.
