Abstract:

The main purpose of this research is to determine the views of teachers and school administrators on the Covid-19 process in the context of crisis management. The research was carried out with the participation of 12 teachers and 8 school administrators working at primary, secondary and high school levels in the Aegean Region in the 2020-2021 academic year. In the multi-case study based on the qualitative research approach, opinions on crisis management in education during the Covid-19 pandemic were collected using interview forms. Descriptive analysis technique was used in the analysis of the obtained data. Crisis management in education during the pandemic was reviewed in terms of school management practices, students' access to education, professional development of teachers and the meetings held, guidance for stakeholders, measures for the transition to face-to-face education, education policies, metaphorical perceptions and predictions about the post-crisis period. As a result, among the opinions of the participants are the problems and obstacles experienced in the process, but if the management of the crisis and post-crisis process is carried out successfully, it is estimated to bring innovations and developments in education; that the pandemic process can be turned into an opportunity. In the light of the results, some suggestions thought to guide the crisis management in education have been reached regarding the pandemic process.
