Abstract:

Women's records are one of the most important archive sources in the Ottoman history. The woman has both legal responsibilities. The women performed all these tasks, recorded the decisions they made, recorded the forms of the documents sent from the center in the records. These books are called sheriff records. In these records, the records contain subjects such as purchases, debt records, property cases, heritage taxation, vasi determination, grants, feed, taxes, theft, insult, murder; the records of documents such as ferman, berat, texture, letter. This study focuses on the introduction of the record and the summaries of the documents to the 1658-1659 Sheriff, which was of great importance for the history of Harput.
