Bu araştırmada açık öğretim liselerinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sosyodemografik özelliklerinin ve eğitim süreçlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada, genel tarama yöntemlerinden tekil tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. 447 öğrenciye çevrim içi ortamda anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularında sosyodemografik özelliklere göre dağılımlarda cinsiyet göre kadınların, yaşa göre 18-27 yaş arasındakilerin, yaşadıkları ile göre İstanbul’da yaşayanların, medeni durumlarına göre evlilerin, çocuk durumuna göre çocuğu olmayanların, çalışma durumuna göre herhangi bir işte çalışmayanların, bilgisayar ve internet kullanımlarına göre orta ve ileri düzeyde bilgisayar ve internet kullanabilenlerin, anne-baba eğitim düzeyleri ilkokul ve altı, eş eğitim düzeyi ise ortaöğretim (lise) ara sınıftan ayrılma olanların, evdeki imkânlarına göre bilgisayar ve internet bağlantısı bulunanların, gelir düzeyleri asgari ücretin altındakilerin oranının fazla olduğu görülmüştür. Eğitim süreçlerine bakıldığında öğrencilerin çoğunlukla ortaokul ve ortaöğretim (lise) ara sınıftan ayrılmış olup ekonomik nedenlerle eğitimlerini yarıda bıraktığı görülmüştür. Açık öğretim liselerine meslek ve diploma sahibi olmak amacıyla kayıt yaptıranların ve okul türlerinden Açık Öğretim Lisesi’ni tercih edenlerin oranı fazladır. Çoğunluğu daha önce herhangi bir uzaktan eğitim faaliyetine katılmayan öğrenciler, ders seçme ve kayıt işlemlerini kendileri yapmakta, ders çalışırken daha çok dijital materyalleri tercih etmektedirler. Öğrenciler açık öğretim liselerinden mezun olduktan sonra da eğitimlerine devam etmeyi planlamaktadırlar. Ayrıca öğrenciler açık öğretim liselerinde eğitimin etkililiğinin artırılması adına eğitim sistemi, kayıt ve ders seçme işlemleri, mezuniyet şartları, sınavlar, ders kitapları, öğrencilere yapılan bilgilendirmeler ve öğrenim süreçlerindeki faaliyetler ile ilgili önerilerde bulunmuşlardır.
In this study, it was aimed to determine the sociodemographic characteristics and educational processes of the students studying in open education high schools. In the research, a single screening model from the general screening methods was used. a survey application was made to 447 students in an online environment. When we examined research findings based on personal characteristics, it is seen that according to gender womens, according to age individuals in the 18-27 age group, according to the city where they live individuals living in Istanbul, according to maritul status married individuals, according to child status individuals without children, according to working status individuals who do not work in any job, and according to facilities at home individuals who can use computers and the internet at medium and advanced levels, individuals whose parental education level is primary school or below, whose spouse education level is secondary school (high school) leaving middle class, individuals who have a computer and internet connection at home, and individuals whose income level is below the minimum wage have higher percentage in this distrubition. In the distributions according to educational characteristics, it was seen that students mostly left the middle school and secondary education (high school) intermediate class and left their education halfway due to economic reasons. The rate of individuals who enroll in open education high schools in order to have a profession and/or diploma, and individuals who prefer Open Education High School have higher percentage. Students, most of whom have not participated in any distance education activities before, do their course selection and registration process themselves, and they prefer digital materials while studying. Students plan to continue their education after graduating from open education high schools. Further, students made suggestions about the education system, registration and course selection procedures, graduation conditions, exams, textbooks, information given to students and activities in the learning process in order to increase the effectiveness of education in open education high schools.
