Yeni Alman Sineması’nın en önemli yönetmenlerinden biri olan Rainer Werner Fassbinder’in filmlerinde ötekiler önemli bir yer tutar. Her ne kadar bireyler özelinde dar mekanlarda sıkışmış yaşamlar onun filmlerinin ana sorunsalıymış gibi görünse de, Alman tarihi içinde değişen/dönüşen sosyal, ekonomik, siyasal koşullar eşliğinde bu sürecin bireylerin yaşamına, ilişkilerine, kısaca toplumun her katmanına nasıl yansıdığı filmlerinin asıl çerçevesini oluşturur. Bu çalışmada İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrasında Almanya’da kadınların toplumsal ve ekonomik hayatta oynadıkları rol ve elde ettikleri veya edemedikleri statü, yaşadıkları ilişkiler ve aşk/iktidar ilişkileri içinde Alman toplumunda nasıl temsil edildikleri konusu Korku Ruhu Kemirir (Angst essen Seele auf, 1974) ve Petra von Kant’ın Acı Gözyaşları (Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant, 1972) olmak üzere iki film örneği üzerinden analiz edilecektir.
In the films of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, one of the most important directors of the New German Cinema, the others hold an important place. Although the lives in particular and in the narrow spaces of individuals seem to be the main problem of his films, it is the main framework of the films that this process, along with the social, economic and political conditions that change in German history, reflects the individual’s lives, relationships, in short, how it reflects every layer of society. The study will analyze the role of women in the social and economic life in Germany after the Second World War and the status they gain or do not, how they are represented in the German society in their relationships and in their love/power relations (Angst essen Seele auf, 1974) and the painful tears of Petra von Kant (Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant, 1972).
