Abstract:

The three core elements of the educational system are teachers, students and educational programs. The teachers who are going to apply the educational programs are very important in these items. While teachers are trained, there are field qualification courses received by teachers candidates as well as teaching professional knowledge courses based on both observation and practice. The teaching practice classes are among them. The teacher's candidate has experienced how to teach the knowledge he has acquired, to get closer to the teaching profession and to develop himself in the field of application, the application courses have been included in the educational faculty programs. The teaching practice course is a very important course for the teacher candidates. Through this course, the theoretical and practical courses they have received at the faculty will benefit from the professional development of teachers candidates in the classroom environment, preparing their own curriculum plans, designing events, developing materials and finding the opportunity to apply them all. The aim of this study is to identify the opinions of the Turkish teacher candidates on the teaching practice course. In this study in the 2018-2019 educational year, 55 final class students from the Dede Korkut Education Faculty of the University of Kafkas, who studied in the field of Turkish Education and received the teaching practice course, took part in this study. The study data is collected with an open end question. The forms of interviews collected from the teacher candidates were analyzed by the method of content analysis. Themes, codes and frequencies are given in tables and findings are interpreted in this direction. According to the research, teachers find the teaching application course useful but insufficient in all aspects.
