Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to find out whether any relationship exists between teachers’ satisfaction level about school related subjects and success of schools in general. The samples of this study are 3252 teachers from 137 secondary schools in Kocaeli. School success is determined as to difference between entrance scores to the school of students they achieved in SBS (Proficiency Test for Secondary Schools) and scores in YGS (Entrance Examination to Higher Education) the students achieved when graduated from high schools. Thus, a schools contribution to students from very beginnig to the end is calculated. Democratic school climate, physical and social environment and learning environment are the three aspects covered in the satisfaction questionnaire. Data is analyzed using correlation analysis and simple regression in SPSS 13. School satisfaction in general is found to be significantly correlated with school success calculated. And each variable is significantly related to school success. Democratic School climate represents %5, physical and social environment 14% and learning environment 12% of total variance.
