Abstract:

This study is aimed at studying the associate abuse seen in the pre-school period on the basis of emotional intelligence and family variables. A total of 286 children between the ages of 5 and 6 participated in the study. The study used the narrative form of predictive situations as a data collection tool, the Sullivan Emotional Intelligence Scale for Children, the Sullivan Emotional Intelligence Scale for Children, the Sullivan Teachers Emotional Intelligence Scale for Children, the Parental Attitude Scale (ETO) and the Demographic Information Form. The findings have shown that emotional intelligence, gender, mother's education status, socio-economic level, father's profession, child's level of interest in games and television programs including violence, and democratic and authoritarian parental attitudes are directly related to fellow harassment. In addition, the findings show that pre-school abuse can be a common and important problem. The findings were discussed in the framework of the relevant area.
